Chef Lika Nevarez began college in Hawaii as a forensics major before earning a degree in psychology. After returning to California, she entered hospitality through high-profile events and catering in Los Angeles. In fall 2021, she joined Auro’s opening culinary team. Within eight months, the restaurant earned its first MICHELIN Star. As Auro evolved, so did Nevarez’s role, leading to her promotion to Sous Chef in 2025.

Known for her exacting eye, Nevarez developed a particular appreciation for the technical discipline of fish butchery. She thrives on what she calls a “beautifully chaotic” schedule, balancing her culinary career with completing a second degree in nursing.

Away from work, she enjoys Pilates and discovering new cities through their food. At home, she spends time with her two Siamese kittens, Lila and Lana. Whether wearing a chef’s coat or clinical scrubs, she brings the same focus and curiosity to both pursuits.
