Pastry Sous Chef

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Pastry Sous Chef Laura Ongaro brings a thoughtful blend of creativity, seasonality, and heritage to the pastry program at Auro. Her earliest memories of food trace back to her Nonno’s restaurant, where a deep appreciation for hospitality and tradition first took root. After earning her degree from UC Davis, Laura pursued her passion for pastry, drawn to the intersection of craft, connection, and storytelling through flavor.

Laura joined the opening team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley in 2021 and has been quietly creating memorable desserts ever since. Her work is guided by the rhythm of the seasons and inspired by Napa Valley’s vibrant bounty. Each dish she creates is a reflection of her dedication to thoughtful technique, balance, and beauty. Her desserts are delicate, expressive, and always flavor-forward.

Outside the kitchen, Laura finds joy in the little things: playing piano by ear, surfing at Bolinas Beach, or picking up her favorite vegetarian burrito from Model Bakery. Her guiding moto, "Have courage and be kind," is evident in every sweet detail she brings to the table.
